Holiday Stockings
Get ready for the holidays with your own homemade stocking! Use traditional, holiday-themed fabrics or just choose your favorite print. You'll practice sewing curved seams, inserting a lining and working with fusible interfacing as you create your one-of-a-kind stocking that will be filled with fun goodies on Christmas morning! These stockings will be way too pretty for lumps of coal!
Materials:
- 1/2 yard 44/45” wide quilting cotton for lining & cuff
- 1/2 yard 44/45” wide quilting cotton for outer fabric *you can also split this in two and use two different fat quarters for a scrappier look!
- 2 ½” x 5” scrap of quilting cotton for hang tab
- 1/2 yard quilt batting
Other supplies you'll need, most available at Thread Lab:
– Fabric scissors
– Rotary cutter
– Straight pins and/or wonder clips (I find wonder clips easier)
– Coordinating spool of thread for piecing & topstitching
– Marking tool (chalk, pencil, hera marker, etc.)
Requirements:
Please be comfortable with threading your sewing machine, winding/loading a bobbin, and stitching with consistent seam allowances. Unsure if this class is right for you? Give us a call and we'll be happy to help you choose! Please read Thread Lab Cancellation Policy before signing up.
